Are Instagram Unfollower Apps Safe? The Honest Answer

The 3 real risks
1. Account bans. Instagram forbids third-party logins. When detected, your account gets punished — blocks, reduced reach, or suspension. The app loses nothing.
2. Password theft. You’re typing your real password into someone else’s app. Breaches happen; your account gets compromised.
3. They can’t do what they promise. No app can show unfollows from before you installed it — Instagram provides no historical data.
The safe alternative
Download followers_1.json and following.json from Instagram’s own settings (download guide), then run them through UnfollowersTracker. No password, no login — files are processed entirely in your browser.
