How UnfollowersTracker Works
UnfollowersTracker shows you who doesn’t follow you back on Instagram — without asking for your password, without logging into your account, and without sending your data anywhere. Everything happens right in your browser.
Step 1: Download your Instagram data
Instagram lets every user download their own information, including full followers and following lists. Here’s how:
- Open Instagram and go to Settings
- Tap Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Download your information
- Choose JSON as the format
- Select Followers and following and request the download
- Instagram will email you a ZIP file (usually within a few minutes to 48 hours)
Step 2: Upload the two JSON files
Unzip the file Instagram sent you. Inside you’ll find followers_1.json and following.json. Drag both into the tool on our homepage. The files are read locally by your browser — they are never uploaded to our servers.
Step 3: See your results instantly
The tool compares both lists in under a second and shows you three tabs:
- Don’t follow you back — people you follow who don’t follow you
- You don’t follow back — your followers you haven’t followed back
- Mutual followers — people you follow each other with
You can search any username, click through to their Instagram profile, or copy the full list.
Why this method is the safe one
Most “unfollower” apps ask for your Instagram username and password, then log into your account on your behalf. That violates Instagram’s Terms of Use and can get your account flagged, restricted, or banned. Our method uses only the official data export that you request yourself — there is no login, no password, no API tricks. Nothing to ban.
